Q3. What have you learned from your audience feedback?
During class time we joined to make partners and evaluated each others digipack. This was helpful as I was gaining advice and an opinion of someone who had the same experience as me in media, rather than someone who wasn't necessarily aware of the more in depth media terminology. The 'WWW' is very useful to my group as it is essential to us that our digipack relates to our genre, as it will suit our target audience and make it more obvious that it coincides with our video. The 'EBI' was taken into account and on my next draft of the digipack I will consider adding more information such as a website or something similar to make it more personal.
I posted my first video draft on my Facebook page to gain feedback from a wider audience, I found the response very interesting and this also helped when I went back to perfect the editing. Some of the comments suggested we added in camera movements as the still camera caused slight viewer fatigue, this problem was addressed by adding in a pan and also zoom in and outs using a specific tool on Final Cut. One comment highlighted the fact that it looked as if I had 'forgotten the words' at a certain point, this was corrected by making sure the clip was in time with the music allowing the lip syncing to be in time. It was quite apparent that everyone enjoyed the use of props and mise en scene including the bike, balloons, glitter and paint which were the aspects that we took great care in performing, filming and editing.
I also posted my advert on Facebook asking for anything that could be improved. The main issue that seemed to be noticed by each person commenting was with the text, a few of the words seemed to be quite hard to read due to the lighting in the background. As this is advertising an album it is essential that the writing can be read therefore I took the image back onto Photoshop to focus on rearranging the text in order for it to be visible. When editing the image again I totally re-arranged the text to take on a completely different layout causing the text to be readable.
What have you learned from your audience feedback?
As you can see in this video I invited a group of people in form of a focus group to view our music video, advert and digipack. Whilst they were watching the video they filled out printed questionnaires which would give us essential information in helping us create our final products. A select few also took part in expressing their views on what went well and what could be improved with the video in front of the camera. I feel this was a successful way of gaining audience feedback as we were able to discuss points in detail with them rather than viewing simple comments on social networks such as facebook.
What have you learned from your audience feedback?
These gifs show the questionnaires that we distributed before the showing of our video, advert and digipack. We included questions such as, 'Do you like the effects (e.g. transitions and overlays) and how do you think they could be improved?' Feedback to specific questions like these is very helpful to our group as we can identify what people think is effective and use similar effects in other parts of the video and also change what they think could be improved to make the video suit the audiences visual preferences. The majority of the responses stated that the editing was very effective and entertaining which proved the effects we had already placed on the video were to the high standards we desire.
What have you learned from your audience feedback?
During class we got into groups of people joining those together of different music videos, we watched all three music videos and gave our opinions what what we liked and what needed to be improved. We also listened to what they thought about ours.
On an A3 sized piece of paper we brainstormed the 'WWW's' and 'EBI's' of each group, this was very helpful as we were able to discuss our music videos with each other and identify any aspects that needed altering. I also found that it helped with reassurance with certain clips that are in place and I thought may have needed changing, however the majority of these clips were the ones that they most enjoyed. Taking part in listening and talking sessions allows you to take small ideas from the other groups and develop them into your own.

How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages? PART 2
This video put in fast motion shows just some of the media technologies we used during the filming of the music video. As you can see Emma is setting up my camera and tripod which was used successfully in order for us to gain a steady shot. The tripod was also useful for placing the camera at various heights and to pan the camera smoothly. We were prepared when thinking of the things that were needed for the filming eg the powder paint, a sheet to protect the floor and baby wipes to clean up any mess left behind. Although this is isn't filmed we also used the stage lighting in the drama room to produce our desired spot light effect.
In the image above you can see how we used the camera when filming the main product (music video) in this particular image Emma is testing out the focus on the camera. She has placed her hand in front of it to see if it was possible for the camera to focus on my face if it were to be that close. This was a successful way of testing out different shots, due to the fact that we had no practice of filming the video we used this as trial and error.
